Margaret (Colver) Fanning was born in 1657 in Groton, New London, Connecticut, daughter of Edward Colver Sr (abt. 1600–1685) and Ann (Ellis) Colver (abt. 1608–abt. 1678).
In 1683 in Connecticut Colony, Margaret married Lieut. John Fanning (born in 1657 in Fishers Island, Suffolk, New York Colony; son of Edmund Fanning and Ellen (Butler) Fanning).[1] Their known children were:
- Mary Fanning (1686–1771)
- John Fanning Jr. (abt. 1688–1718)
- William Fanning (abt. 1700–1779)
Margaret died on 16 Jun 1740 in Groton, aged 82.
