Virginia L. Combs Allen November 8, 1931 - August 1, 2015 Virginia L. Combs Allen, age 83, of Lexington, KY passed into another dimension on Saturday, August 1, 2015 in Lexington, KY. She was born November 8, 1931 at Juan, KY. She was preceded in death by her father: Bryan Combs. Mother: Lizzie Gross Hounshell Combs. Two half sisters: Joanna Hounshell Jett and Zelma Hounshell Combs. Two half brothers: G.H. Hounshell and Kenneth Hounshell. She is survived by son: John C. (Dale) Allen of Lexington, KY. Two grandsons: Jonathan Bryan Allen and Jeffrey Robert Allen. Some beautiful nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and the community. Virginia attended elementary school at Juan, KY and Winchester, KY; High school at Winchester, KY and then graduated from Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1953 as a registered nurse. She married Cephus Allen from Stanton, KY. She was a member of the “Juan Presbyterian Church’ and later a member of the “Old Regular Baptist Church” at Juan, KY. Visitation will begin at 11:00am on Monday with funeral services at Noon. Paul Turner officiating. Burial in the Combs Cemetery at Juan, KY. Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
