Biography
It is presumed this William was the William Compton baptised on 10 Mar 1794 at Christian Malford, Wiltshire, son of Adam and 'Sarah'.[1] NB His mother's name as Sarah is probably an error as other children were born prior to this in the same parish, the children of Adam and Ann Compton.
William Compton, bachelor of Christian Malford, and Anne 'Barringden' [probably Barrington], spinster of Dauntsey, were married by Banns on 11 Nov 1816 at Dauntsey, Wiltshire.[2]
