Biography

Emily was born in 1858. Emily was the child of William Compton and Mary Martin. Emily passed away about 1909.

Emily inherited the Spinning wheel pictured above from her grandmother, Emily Louisa (Compton) Martin . If you click on Compton-1560, you will see Emily Compton Martin at this very wheel. This wheel remains in the Stymeist family to this day.

She married John Stymeist in 1881 on Prince Edward Island. [1] At the time of their marriage, John was from Summerside, and Emily from Compton's Mills, Lot 61.

John Stymeist and his wife Emily Compton Stymeist had 7 children: 1)Mary Jane Stymeist b. 1882 m David Lowe, 2)William Amos Stymeist, b. 1882 m. Sarah Hume, 3) Sarah Emiline Stymeist, b. 1890 m. Garfield MacArthur, 4) Caroline Ester Stymeist, died young, 5) Donald MacDonald Stymeist, b. 1895, 6) James MacDougall Stymeist, b. 1895 m. Christine Horton, 7)Mabel Louise Stymeist, m Colin Acorn.
