Carrie Marie CONANT (27 October 1894 - 26 January 1989) is currently believed to have been the 7th great granddaughter of Roger CONANT, the founder of Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts and the first Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
Biography:
Carrie Marie CONANT was born on 27 October 1894 in Williams Township, Bay, Michigan.[1] and died on 26 January 1989 in Orange County, California[2] She was the daughter of Ora Lincoln CONANT (Born: 28 June 1861 in Ohio;[3] Died: 15 June 1944 in Los Angeles County, California[3]) and Flora S. Perry.[2], [4], [5]
Parentage and Lineage:
Her parents were married on 15 March 1893 in Williams, Bay County, Michigan.[6]
Carrie Marie CONANT was probably named after the woman who is currently believed to have been her maternal grandmother who was named Carrie in the 1870 census record.[7] Carrie (unknown maiden name) PERRY was not in the 1880 Census record of the family and is believed to have died between 1870 and 1880.
The tree over at FamilySearch shows the following lineage: Pedigree of Carrie Marie CONANT This pedigree chart leads us to believe she was the 7th great granddaughter of Roger CONANT who founded Salem, Essex, Mass., and was the first Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. This line of descent from Roger Conant is still being researched.
A researcher had listed that her mother, Flora Perry, was a descendant of Commodore Perry, but this has yet to be verified. Since there were at least 2 different Commodore Perry's in history that were born before her father, Worthy PERRY (born: about 1840) it is difficult to know which Commodore Perry they mean. However they probably mean either Commodore Oliver Hazard PERRY or Commodore Matthew Calbraith PERRY. However any relationship to either of these individuals would need to be thoroughly proven before it could be claimed to be a fact.
Residences, Before Marriage:
1894 Michigan State Census - Not listed in the listing, but probably not born yet as she was born in October.[8]
1930 - Huntington Park, Los Angeles, California[16]
1940 - Tract 511, Huntington Park, San Antonio Judicial Township, Los Angeles, California[17]
Children of Harry Glenn FULLER and Carrie Marie CONANT:
