Biography

Basil was born circa 1785 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania.^[1] He was the son of John Conaway and Rachel Willison.

He married first Mary Crosby circa 1809, probably in Bedford County.^[2]

He married second Sarah Crosby on 14 December 1828 in Perry County, Ohio, in a ceremony performed by Amos Roberts, J.P.^[3]

Basil died on 29 May 1854 in Perry County,^[4] and he is buried there in the Iliff Cemetery in McLuney.^[5]

In the 1810 census Bazel was in Bedford, Bedford, Pennsylvania, United States.^[6]

In the 1830 census Basil was in Harrison, Perry, Ohio, United States.^[7]

In the 1840 census Bazil was in Harrison Township, Perry, Ohio, United States.^[8]

In the 1850 census Bazel (age 65) was in Harrison Township, Perry, Ohio, United States.^[9]
