He married first Daisy Mae Ansel on 14 August 1920 in New Lexington, Perry County, in a ceremony performed by A. J. Hawk, M.G.[2] Carl and Daisy divorced by 1932, when Daisy remarried.[3]
He married second, as her second husband, Viola Evelyn (Black) Whaley on 7 October 1933 in Marion County, Ohio, in a ceremony performed by L. F. Porter, Emmanuel Baptist Church.[4]
Carl died on 27 January 1960 in Marion, Marion County,[5] and he is buried there in the Marion Cemetery.[6]
