He participated in the Civil War with the 30th Illinois Infantry, Co. E.[1]
There is another record for Solomon Conder serving in the 97th Regiment, Indiana Infantry, Co. F[2]
In April 1880, he filed for pension as an invalid. The service section of this application reads[3]:

Research Notes
There may be some conflation of two Solomon Conders. There is one who fought during the Civil War w/ the Illinois Infantry, and there is one who fought with the Indiana Infantry.
In 1880, a Solomon Condor [sic] and his wife, Nancy J., are living in Rockwood, Randolph County, Illinois in June 1880 at the time of the census taking. He was b. ca. 1837 in Indiana; father in Kentucky and mother in N. Carolina. They have two daughters: Mary A and Sarah J.[4] I would have to presume that this is the Solomon who fought in the Illinois Infantry, and the Solomon who was the son of Martin and Ann Catherine (Fiscus) Conder.[1][3] This is the Solomon who reportedly died in June 1880, so he either died right after this census was taken on 22 Jun 1880, or this is a different Solomon Conder.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Solomon by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Solomon:
