Thanks for the merge. My ancestor is Nathaniel Ogden who I now know married Eunice Condit. Been searching for that information for a few years.

Hi Alan, thanks for your note about Eunice Condit. I sent you an email, hope you receive it , my email system hasn’t been working well lately.

I’m still looking for her marriage and birth records. - Ellen Gustafson

Lora (Kartchner) Eckler's 3rd great grandfather, Truman Higley, is the brother of my third great grandfather, Clark Higley. So, our common ancestor is our 4th great grandfather, Oliver Higley, which makes us 5th cousins.

Thanks Alan for figuring out which cousins we are.

Hello Alan,

When you get a chance, please review Gedcom Created Bios it clarifies what useless information should be deleted. I will do a quick clean-up on your wife's g-grandmother as an example. If you go to the changes tab of the profile you will see the changes I made. Should you have any questions or comments feel free to contact me.

Cheers!

I would suggest a lot of the material currently listed under Sources be reworded (to avoid plagiarism) and placed in the bio section using reference tags <ref>http://www.milaminvirginia.com/rush_family.html</ref>. This requires the <references /> under the Sources subheading. See Sources. I didn't note all of the vitals spelled out above in the one reference. I always try to post several sources. Have you tried Family Search?

You are on a great start; but, I feel multiple sources offset a potential bias as this is a derivative source. The source citations [number] in the Milam source will be unclear to the reader. Perhaps, these could be reference tagged as above? There are some great bio examples on WT. When I see something interesting I click the edit tab to see how it was done. I of course don't change them.

Cheers!

Hi Alan,

I am a mentor and happy to help others! If you have any specific questions please post them on my profile unless they need to be private. I understand the difficulties of researching ancient profiles. Have you had a chance to check out Kitty's Library?

Cheers!

Hi, and Welcome to WikiTree! Benjamin and Alice (Grigsby) Rush are my 6x-gr-grandparents. I assume you're a cousin, but I can't tell. Are you a collateral descendant (assuming you're not direct, since the profiles you created for them have no children). You can check on how you and I are related by adding Noland-165 in the empty box at http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Relationship (my tree's public; yours isn't, so I can't do the Kin check). Cheers, Liz
