Welcome to our community, Gary. The more ancestors you add, the more likely cousins will find you and help leaf out your Phipps family branches.
Our Honor Code, G2G forum, help pages, search features, and many other useful links can be accessed from the menus on the upper right corner of most pages.
Please consider stopping by the Tree House to introduce yourself.
VERY IMPORTANT:
The more documents, sources, dates, and locations you provide on the profiles you create, the stronger your branches and our mutual global tree will be. If you don't know the correct date, please estimate using before or after.
Thank you for helping in our mission to build a global tree with only ONE profile per person.
I hope to be able to learn more about my maternal grandfather since I have almost no information about him or his family (Phipps), The only info I currently have is his name is George N. Phipps, b. Mar 28, 1888 in Illinois-possibly White, Hamilton, or Franklin county. He moved to Arkansas with his older sister Mary who was married to James Mack Mahar, b. Apr 28,1873 in Lassater twp, Hamilton Co., Il.. They were listed in the 1900 census as residents of Paragould City, Greene Co. Ar.
George married Cora Hester in Ar. Their first child was Hazel b.1913. They lived as share croppers on Block farm until George died Feb. 14, 1949.
I have only vague memories of Grandpa and my Grandma, Momma and Aunts and Uncles on my mother's side of the family did not speak of his history much.
