He may have had convict ancestors, but this needs more investigation.
My Mother remembered that her g.grandfather had a cabinetmaking business in the City, and that he threw out his small change for the children to collect, when he was drunk. She said Chinese children were prevalent, when collecting the money, too.
James died on September 30, 1884 in Chesser Street, Adelaide, South Australia aged ~57.
