CONNER - J. S. Conner, age seventy-six years, a veteran of the civil war, died Thrusday morning at 10:30 o'clock, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. B. Conner, at 601 Clark street. Mr. Conner had been in declining health for several months, but the end came as a shock to his relatives and friends. He had lived a devout Christian life for the past sixty years, and was loved by all who knew him. He was a highly esteemed member of the Masonic fraternity, and of the Grand Army of the Republic. He leaves to mourn his death the following children: Mrs. A. B. Conner, J. S. Conner, H. I., J. M. and H. Conner, all of this city, and J. W. Conner, of Hot Springs, Ark. Funeral services will be conducted from the Mount Herman Methodist Episcopal church Saturday morning at eleven o'clock. Interment will be in Mount Herman cemetery.
