He served in the war of 1812.[5] He was taken as a prisoner of war. He arrived in the Cartel Brigg Jubilee in April 1814 from Halifax and was discharged June 1815 having served faithfully at Conjequita Creek near Buffalo. He received his pension March 1849.[6].

He passed away May 9, 1854 in Allen, Kentucky and is probably buried at the Conner Graveyard located on the Thomas Mitchell Farm Friendship Church Road
