Lizzie (Conner) Willoughby was born in Appalachia, in Kentucky.

Lizzie was born Dec 1858 in Georgia. She was the daughter of Anderson Conner & Sarah Unknown.

Her daughter Leila Gann was 41 and had completed the 2nd grade, her husband Marvin Gann was 58 and had completed the 4th grade. ^[9]

She died 21 Apr 1941 in Willoughby Town, Jeffersonville Precinct, Montgomery County, Kentucky, United States at 9am at the age of 82. She was not seen by a doctor; her death certificate says the cause of death was old age. Parents listed as J.C. & Sarah Conner. A. L. Mitchell of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky took care of the funeral. ^{[10] [11]}

Buried 22 Apr 1941 in the Matt Willoughby Cemetery, Willoughby Town, Montgomery County, Kentucky. Her marker is a very large field stone. ^{[11] [12]}
