Following are notes from Mike Canter:
You will notice that John, being born in 1774, was very young at the death of Thomas and Penelope. He was taken in thru Orphan’s Court by the Walls family, who administered his inheritance when he reached age. As we know , John later married Barbara Walls.
When John received his inheritance, it was mentioned that part of his inheritance was in the possession of Jonathan Canter. Still trying to figure this one out too.
This does not rule out the possibility that Thomas may have had children thru a previous marriage. Because of the age difference of he and Penelope, Any older children would have probably been gone from the house before the marriage to Penelope.
That being the case, this opens the door to the case that maybe Thomas was the father of William Jr., Isaac, Truman, Thomas and maybe Jonathan was really John the soldier ?? Food for thought.
