In the "Register," Bell reported that one record of Rebecca's marriage identifies her spouse as Adam Young [Jung], while as second calls him Andrew Young [Andreas Jung]. (Note that the original records that he mentions were written in English and used English names.) Bell adds that later records of their children's baptisms leaves no doubt that she married Andrew (Andreas). The date was 11 Feb, but the year was either 1751 or 1752.
Adam, or Andrew [Andreas] Young [Jung], bachelor, & Rebecca Conradin, spinster (Roll I gives the marriage as between Adam Young & Rebecca; while Roll II shows a double wedding with Adam Young marrying Maria Elizabeth Mullerin [Müller] & Andrew Young marrying Rebecca Conradin. (The “-in” is, of course, simply the German feminine suffix.))[1]
Andreas Jung was also born in the German States. The couple had nine known children: 6 daughters & 3 sons. Four of those daughters and one of the sons survived into adulthood & marriage. Andreas lived to be nearly 80 years old, dying at Second Peninsula, while Rebecca reached her 89th birthday.[2]
