Biography
Our Micalago correspondent reports the death of an old and respected resident in the person of Mr. Thomas Conroy which occurred about ten o'clock on Thursday. Deceased, who was 85 years of age, had been enjoying good health up to about a fortnight before his death, when he took to his bed and did not leave it for a few days, during which time he was visited by the Rev. Father O'Gorman, who administered to him the last rites of the church.
During the last week of the goodly old man's life he would leave bis bed a few hours during the day and it was thought he was on the way to recovery, but on Thursday morning it became evident to his friends that his end was at hand. The funeral took place on Friday, and in the face of the damp and threatening state of the weather was well attended. [1]
