Biography

David fought and served in the American Revolution with the Artillery. He started under the command of General Henry Knox, he was at Fort Ticonderoga when they captured the guns and took them back to Dorchester in 1775. Then in 1777 he joined the Continental Artillery and became a commander of one of General Horatio Gates' cannon brigades while at Valley Forge. But then during he Battle of Monmouth Courthouse he was seriously wounded when he was shot through the lungs! But miraculously he survived and returned to duty. He was discharged in December of 1780
