Biography

Mary 'Polly" Cook, daughter of Obediah Cook and Sarah (Cottingham) Cook, was born on 25 April 1813 at Franklin County, North Carolina.[1]

She married William Price of Buncombe County, North Carolina on 22 February, 1827.

William died in Buncombe County, North Carolina on 11 December 1839. Mary moved with her children through Arkansas to Missouri. To this union, the following children were born: Isaac Charles, Sarah Magdalene, Lydia Agnes, James Conner, Benjamin "Berry", William Harrison & Warren Johnston. Mary was expecting Warren Johnston when William Price passed on.

Mary's second marriage was to Wilson Sharp at Andrews County, Missouri on 21 August 1842. [2] To this union the following children were born: Charlotte Matilda, Maryann Amanda, Rial Samuel, Nancy Jane & Ann.

She appeared on the census of 14 Nov. 1850 at Nodaway County, Missouri.[3]

Mary & Wilson divorced after 1854. Mary resumed using the Price name for herself and the Sharp children.

She appeared on the census of 26 June 1860 at Westport, Jackson County, Missouri.[4] She appeared on the census of 22 June 1870 at Hackberry Township, Labette County, Kansas.[5] She appeared on the census of 17 June 1880 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law at Illinois Township, Washington County, Arkansas.[6]

Mary died in 1880 at Washington County, Arkansas and was buried at Rheas Mill Cemetery, Rhea, Washington County, Arkansas. Her memorial has biographical material and links to those of family members.[1]
