Biography

Charlotte Cook was born about 1772 in Painswick, Gloucester, England and was christened on 12 Jan 1772. Her parents were John Cook and Sarah Ady.

She was the eldest of six known siblings:
-Charles Cook was christened on 10 Mar 1772 in Wotton Under Edge, Gloucester, England.
-Samuel Cook was born in 1775. He was christened on 21 May 1775 in Painswick, Gloucester, England. He died on 24 Mar 1776 and was buried on 23 Oct 1776.
-Sampson Cook was born about 1776.
-Thomas Cook was christened on 26 Apr 1778 in Sherborne, Gloucester, England.
-Phebe Cook was born about 1788.
-Grace was born about 1790.

She married William Guy (1768-1813) on 5 Jun 1793 in Painswick, Gloucester, England. [1]

They had the following children:
-Ann Guy was born in 1793 and died after 1861
-Elizabeth Guy was christened on 17 Jun 1798. She died on 13 Jul 1801. -John Guy was born in 1800 and christened on 10 Aug 1800 in Painswick, Gloucester, England. He was buried on 22 Feb 1825.
-William Guy was born in 1802.
-Charlotte Ann Guy Richins was born on 30 Nov 1806. She was buried in 1878.

In the 1841 census, Charlotte is living alone with her 8 years old grandson Absalom Richins, in Sheepscombe, Painswick, Gloucestershire, England.[2]

A possible burial record is for a Charlotte Guy dying in Apr-May-Jun of 1842 in Stroud, Gloucestershire, England.[3]
