John was born on June 24, 1814 in Kentucky and a son of John Cook and Jenny Cook. John married Mary Wilson on January 22, 1835 in Jackson County, Missouri[1]and after his wife died, he married Frances Snider on April 15, 1857 in Cass County, Missouri.[2] He passed away on November 5, 187 and buried in the Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery in Santa Rosa (Plot Rural MC 64), Sonoma County, California.[3]
