Biography

  • Father's Name: Joseph Cook
  • Mother's Name: Elizabeth Ann Morgan[1] His father's occupation was tanner.

In 1917 he was appointed to an advisory committee as representative of the Master Tanners. The committee had been set up as part of the War Precautions Leather Industries Regulations [2]

Herbert Henry Cook was a tanner. In 1921 he was appointed to the Tanners Wages Board. [3]

Also in 1921 he attended an inquest at the Glenorchy Courthouse into the death of a man at Messrs J Cook and Sons' tannery, at Glenorchy [4]

In 1922 he was sued by George Sweeney for damages after having an affair with May Sweeney, aged 25[5]

He also incurred a number of traffic infringements in 1923 [6], 1925[7] and 1926[8]
