Biography

Isaac Cooke was born at Salem, Massachusetts on April 3, 1640, son of Henry and Judith (Birdsale) Cooke. [1]

He married Elizabeth Buxton at Salem on May 3, 1664. [1] Elizabeth was the daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth Buxton of Salem.

Anthony Buxton wrote his will on March 8, 1683/4. In it he left bequests to his daughter Elizabeth, wife of Isaac Cook. [2]


[Note: An Isaac Cooke of Salem, wrote his will on September 4, 1692. [3] In he left bequests to:

  • beloved wife Elizabeth
  • son Samuel, when he comes to age 21
  • son Henry, when he comes to age 21
  • my six daughters
  • daughter Wilson
  • five youngest daughters, Mary, Abigail, Hannah, Sarah and Lydia L20 each to be paid when the come of age or marriage
  • grandson Isaac Wilson
  • grandsons Robert and Elizabeth Wilson
  • wife Elizabeth to be sole executor, until two sons come of age and then they will be joined executors [3]
