Bartlett Livingston Cook died December 7, 1906 and is buried at 'Graves Cemetery' Guilford MO.

Barlett Livingston Cook died Dec. 15, 1906 at his home in Humansville, formerly of Guilford, Missouri. He was the father of William R. Cook, of Stanberry, MO and one of the early pioneers of Northwest Missouri. He was born in Ashe county, North Carolina, Jan. 13, 1828, the son of Henry and Anna Shearer Cook. In 1842 the family came to Buchanan County, MO. In 1849 , he enlisted in the Mexican War. He was in the battle of Sacramento and other battles. He was discharged at Ft. Leavenworth, KS. He then located in Gentry CO, MO. and engaged in farming. In 1864, he enlisted in Co. K 43 Regiment, Missouri infantry under Col. Harding. He was discharged at the close of the war at St. Louis, Benton Barracks. He served as Justice of the Peace for 12 years, was Township assessor at the time of the state census. Took the census of Washington Twp. and formerly of Buchanan CO, six children were born-Mrs. Anna Stabler, of Huron, Kansas: Henry, of Washington Twp: William R., of Stanberry, MO: Joseph, of Lowell, Mass: Mrs. Nancy Roberts, of Guilford, MO and Mrs. Joseph Proctor, of Ravenwood, MO, Mrs. Cook died, Sept 7, 1889

Mr. Cook's sccond marriage was to a widow by the name of Eliza McKee. He also leaves 4 brothers and 2 sisters-John N. Sampson of DeKalb, MO; Rev. R.S. Of Leavenworth, Kansas; J.M. of Harrisonville, MO, and Mrs. Martha Sampson and Mrs. Nannie Simmons, of Huron, Kansas. His wife survives.
