Elizabeth was born in East Kennet, Wiltshire and baptised there on 3 August 1823.[1] She was the daughter of Jeremiah Cook and Mary Sutton.
She came to Western Australia with her parents on the Drummore, arriving on 1 February 1831.[2]
She married Alexander Dewar on 27 November 1838 in Perth.[3] They had ten children over the next 24 years.

DEWAR.—On January 1st, 1892, at her daughter's residence, Chapman, ELIZABETH DEWAR, wife of the late Alexander Dewar of the Greenough Flats. Aged 69 years.[4]
