Biography

Allen was noted as 5 in the 1850 US Census. [1]

Allen was 19 at the beginning of the Civil War. He most likely fought. I have yet to find a record, but I am still looking. The battle of Fort Henry (Tennessee) took place on Feb. 4th 1862 one day prior to his death. A possible place of death?

His brother my great great grandfather Darling did fight for the North Carolina 48th Infantry Regiment but Allen is not listed there.
