He married Mary, whose surname may have been Godfrey or Rickard, by 1694 perhaps at Eastham or Provincetown, Massachusetts, though no record of their marriage is extant.[2][3][4] Her last name of Godfrey has not been found in primary sources; instead she has most often been listed as Mary ________.
He moved to Truro about 1710, where proprietors' records show he shared a lot on 27 February 1711/12 with Jeremy Bickford and Nathaniel Atkins. He was called a resident in Middletown, Connecticut on 26 December 1726 when he bought land from Robert Hubbard. He sold the same tract on 02 May 1727 to Samuel Spencer of Hartford, Connecticut.[1]
Josiah died sometime after 7 December 1727, the date his father named him in his will, probably in Middletown, Connecticut.[5][6]
Wife is Mary, maiden name unknown. (It is suggested-Mary's maiden name was Godfrey as stated in The Doane Family Association of America book dated 1902. Heras they say father was George Godfrey of Eastham, MA) Mary cannot be married to Doane (1669-1757 m-1690) same time as Josiah Cook m)1694, ran across different Mary Godfrey during research
While four of Josiah and Mary Cooke's children (of 9) are listed in the Hopkins Mayflower Families silver book,[1] their lines are not continued on, indicating that their descendants are not currently approved for membership. Additional proof will be needed to prove their parents. Here they will be denoted by the notation "(?)" in the above list of children.

If the relationship has been disproved, please disconnect Cook-3618 from this profile and remove him from the list of children in the biography.. Thank you.
(In 2021 I posted a comment on the profile of Jacob Cook and have recently privately emailed the profile manager of Jacob Cooke to discuss a detachment but have received no response.)
The Hopkins silver book (pub. 2001) shows Jacob as ?son of Josiah, so I'm not sure what specific report disproved him since. I've asked Jeri to advise on the G2G post.
Torrey has his wife's name as Mary Godfrey, but that last name doesn't seem supported by other sources. Although I haven't seen it, Mayflower Families through Five Generations Vol. 6 -Stephen Hopkins suggests that Mary's maiden name may have been Godfrey.
Spouse and mother of children is MARY, but her maiden name is unknown, even in the Mayflower Births & Death Volume records it is just Mary, not Mary Godfrey, daughter of George. Disconnected Mary Godfrey Doane from this profile.
If the relationship has been disproved, please disconnect Cook-3618 from this profile and remove him from the list of children in the biography.. Thank you.

Most sources have Mary's last name as unknown.
