Joan Cooke of Bocking, Essex m. by 1527 William Harris (1502-1556) as his 2nd wife; 1s Arthur.[1] She d. bef Oct 1540, buried at "Segar Norroy in Mortimor Church".[2][3]
Research Notes
It has been claimed[4] that Joan was the daughter of John Cooke whose will was proved in 1517. However, there doesn't appear to be any evidence in support of this.[5]
Changed her name to Joan from Joanna to match the History of Parliament & MCA.
Removed her father John Cooke who was not connected Bocking although they might be connected, trying to track down the Bocking Essex Cookes. She was a sister of Cooke-626 but since John had no Joan/Joanna daughters I think they were simply duplicates. Cooke-675 will be the profile going forward due to the PPP on her son.
Changed death date to bef. 1540 since that's when her husband remarried Agnes Rutter. da. of William Rutter - some other guesses below.
from MCA - "Dorothy Waldegrave m. Arthur Harris, Esq. of Woodham Mortimer and Creeksea, Essex, son of William Harris, Esq. of Southminster, Essex by his 2nd wife Joan Cooke of Bocking Essex."[2]

Cooke-675 and Cooke-626 appear to represent the same person because: Not sisters - they had the same (incorrect) father John Cooke who didn't have any Joan/Joanna daughters before he died. I only sourced Cooke-675 due to the PPP.
Cooke-626 and Cooke-675 appear to represent the same person because: These profiles are sketchy; they incorrectly had the same father so I think they are the same pforile. Cooke-675 has some details which I'm trying to track down. See the research notes in -675 for questions.
Cooke-626 and Cooke-675 appear to represent the same person because: Parents are the same, siblings are the same, and death place is the same. Dates are a little off.
