Eleanor Jane Cooper was born on 19th March 1850 in Salisbury but was baptised in London at St Botolph, Aldgate on 25th May 1851.Her parents were recorded as Thomas , a bricklayer and Ann. Their address was given as Castle Street, Salisbury, Wilts[1]
In 1851, the one year old Eleanor was living at the Castle Street address in, Salisbury with her father Thomas Cooper(39) , born in Salisbury, noted as a bricklayer employing 4 men;her mother Ann (29) born in London Middlesex; her grandmother Sarah Cooper (59), a widow working as a milliner and an aunt, Emma Cooper (22) also working as a milliner. [2]
By 1861 her mother had remarried Charles Cox,(49) a commercial clerk. They were still living in Castle Street, Salisbury with Sarah Cox(13) and Mary Cox(8) and one female servant [3]
In 1871, Eleanor had moved with her family to Fisherton Anger in Wiltshire where her stepfather was working as a coal merchant employing 6 men and a boy. Eleanor herself was working as a music teacher. Her mother, Ann and two younger step brother's Astley (8) and Earnest Fells(6) and a female servant were also living with them.[4]
It was in Fisherton Anger that she marriedRobert White Ford on 16th December 1874 [5]
She died in Bristol [6]
