Annatje Cooper was born about 1714 in Albany, a daughter of Obadiah Cooper and Cornelia Gardenier. Her sister Maria (Cooper) Swart, however, in her will designated her as Hannah. She married Evert Lansing in 1735. They had eight children, seven of whom were baptized in the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany. They were Gerrit E., Cornelia, Obadiah, Obadiah, Catharina, Johannes (John), Alexander, and Annatje. Alexander was baptized at Schenectady.[1][2]
Annatje was owner of seat No. 31 in the First Dutch Reformed Church at Albany from 1751-1769 when she became owner of seat No. 83. She was living in 1787, but died before 1793, as a 1793 pencil note on church record book reads "dead." [3]
