To all it Whom it may concern be it known That I Leaving Cooper of Shelby County in the State of Kentucky formerly of the County of Somerset in the State of Maryland have made dained constituted and appointed and by these ? do make ordain constitue and appoint Samuel Cooper my true and lawful attorney for me and in my name to demand receive sue for receive take possession of and sell any land I have any claim to either by descent or otherwise in the State of Maryland and Particularly a tract of of land which I claim by descent in Somerset County in the state of Maryland on the head waters of Barren Creek and to do such act or acts to the premises as he may judge most benefice for my interest and other attornies or attorney under him to appoint with such powers as he shall think proper to delegate hereby ratifying and confirming whatever my said attorney or those under him may do relative to the premises . As witness my hand and seal this 21st day of August 1798 eight
