"Claes Jansen Kuyper (a "cooper", a wheelright by trade) from Purmerend. He married (banns) 11 Nov. 1656: "Claes Janszen Van Purmerend en Anneken Cornelis van Voorst" from the NYC/NA records. The ships passsenger list of 1659, "De Bever", says " Claes Jansen wheelright from Purmerende, wife, servant and nursing child." Apparently Claes and Annetje went back to the mother land for a visit after their marriage in NA. His 1688 burial record in the Bergen, NJ Dutch Church reads : "Claes Jansen Kuyper". His wife Annetje was buried there in 1725."[1]

Research notes
Marriage to Pietertje Cool
It is said Pietertje Cornelis Cool married Claes Jansen Kuyper van Purmerent ,before 1639.....this is where Pietertje comes from , but .... according to this there was no child Pietertje so just Aechtje , Aeltje and lambert archiver rootsweb a thread about the family It seams quite reasonable + has some good sources . Claes was married to a wife named Annetje and they even went back to Holland after the marriage in New Netherland, his wife died in 1724 , so it seems very unlikely he would have been married to a different woman at the same time, so it looks like Pietertje is the child that was invented by someone , but that didn't excist Timmerman-225 19:19, 8 December 2015 (EST)

Van purmerent-1 and Van Pumerent-1 appear to represent the same person because:
Hi ,
These are the same and can be merged, no conflicts Thanks ! :)
LNAB is patronymic Janszen , Jansz Jans or Jansen He later used last name Kuyper (see note and source duplicate ) (will look for a source for him to make clear what his patronymic was.
Ok little too quick and enthusiastic here , duplicates , so will propose merges for them and remove Pietertje as his wife , she seems to be non excistent (bogus)
Kuyper-5 and Van Pumerent-1 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest paternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge. No tree conflicts. We should keep the aka aka Cuyper, Kuyper, van Purmerendt, and marriage married November 11, 1656 in New York, USA. Thanks!
