Biography

William Cooper was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

William was born in 1877, the son of Charles Cooper and Mary Hammond. [1]

William lived at 48 Clifton St, Richmond, prior to his marriage.

William Leslie Cooper married Jane Aloysius North in 1922.[2][3] William and Jane lived in Mary St Richmond for many years before they moved to 11 Butler St Camberwell.

William Cooper was employed as a Storeman at The Bryant and May Industrial Complex in Richmond, Victoria, Australia. He was incapacitated around 1937 as the result of on industrial accident. He had undiagnosed diabetes and shortly before his death, as the result of a cut on the toe, he developed gangrene and died.[4]

He passed away in 1944,[5] aged 67.[6] Death Notice: COOPER. —On December 12, at Alfred Hospital, William Leslie, beloved husband of Jane A. Cooper; and loved father of Leslie, Jean, Laurie and Edie (Mrs. Andersen). Rest In peace.[7]

His funeral service was held at Our Lady of Victories Church, Burke Road, Camberwell on the 1944-12-14. [8]

William Cooper is buried in the Burwood Cemetery, Section RC7-7.
