Biography
Norman Durwood was born in 1907 to George W and Effie (McDonald) Overby. After his father died, his mother married Robert Leonard Cooper in 1914. By 1920, the family had moved from Mississippi to Texas.
Durwood and Maude Onita Payne had a daughter, Gloria Inez, born in 1926, who was illegitimate[1]. He later married and raised a family. He worked as a welder and oiler, sometimes on ocean liners. Durwood passed away in 1959 at 52 years old.
