Biography

Baptism: 12th September 1869 in Olney, Buckinghamshire, England; the son of William Cooper and Delia Christopher

Margaret Corrigan and James Christopher Cooper were married in 1896, in Wellington. [1]

He was a Sheep farmer at Mangamahoe

In 1902, he was successful in gaining the Masterton seat in the General Elections [2] He was Managing Director of the Wellington Farmers' Meat Company [3]

He was superintendent of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, Masterton. He was elected to the Mauriceville County Council, and had a long and active association with the Farmers’ Union. [4]
