Bertie was born on 11 May 1905 (see 1939 Register). Bertie's birth was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1905 in the King's Norton district.^[1] Bertie was the child of Benjamin Cooper and Elizabeth Dexter. Bertie was baptised on 24 May 1905 at St Nicholas, Kings Norton, Worcestershire, England.^[2]

In the 1911 census Bertie (age 5) was the son of Benjamin Cooper in No 4 Back of 172 High Street, Selly Oak, Bham, Northfield, England.^[3]

Bertie's marriage to Alice Florence Tipping was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1927 in the Birmingham South district.^[4]

In the 1939 register Bertie, Brickyard Kiln Worker, was the married head of household at 12 Basil Grove, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.^[5]
