Samuel Coote was my great-grandfather. He lived in the Inman Valley/Victor Harbour area all his life after emigrating from England at the age of just 4. He was the youngest child. There is still a "Coote Rd" in Lower Inman Valley which is where he used to live. At the age of about 17 he used to walk across country from Inman Valley to the Adelaide Rd on Sunday evening with a bag of food where a large drystone wall was being built. He worked on this wall all week and would walk back to Inman Valley on Friday evening. He worked for many years for the Victor Harbour Council. There is a photograph of him in the local museum.Coote-188 09:27, 13 September 2015 (EDT)
