Gawin was a member of the Leathersellers Company, one of the Livery Companies of London. He became a merchant with close Viriginia connections: he was a financial agent for the colony in London and Deputy Treasurer in 1678.[6]
Gawin married Grace Smith of Derby.[6] They had the following children:
Felicia, who married Thomas Rant of Yelverton, Norfolk[6]
George died at Yelverton, Norfolk, on 25 february 1709 (possibly 1709/10).[6]
