Biography

Catherine "Caty" CORBIN (1768 - 1844) was named in her father's will dated 10 Nov 1789 and proved 17 April 1797 in Culpeper County, Virginia. His will was witnessed by Andrew Gaunt.[1] She was mentioned in the legal papers that followed her father's will. Culpeper Co., Deed Book AA, 525, William Corbin, purchased the interest of his co-heirs in certain land which his father, owned at his death; and, in that deed, the grantors are described as follows:

John Corbin and Frances, his wife, of Culpeper Co., Va. Lewis Corbin and Elizabeth, his wife, of Bourbon Co., Ky. William Gant and Ann, his wife, of Stafford Co., Va. Isaiah Corbin and Lydia, his wife, Benjamin Corbin and Nancy, his wife, John Walker and Margaret, his wife, Andrew Gant and Catherine, his wife, and George Corbin and Sally, his wife, all of Culpeper Co., Va.

She married Andrew GAUNT. They were the grandparents of William Andrew GAUNT who married Emily Frances JOHNSTON/JOHNSON. William GAUNT who married Ann CORBIN (d/o Sarah JENKINS and William CORBIN) is related to Andrew GAUNT.
