Biography

Thomas was born in 1752. Thomas Corbitt ... He passed away in 1829. Thomas Corbitt arrived in the Southern Tier area in the county now known as Steuben after Baron Von Steuben with Colonel Williamson, founder of Bath, New York. Thomas founded the village of Mud Creek Four Corners when he built the first home and business, a saw-mill, at the junction of Mud Creek and Cohocton River. His wife and he are buried in the Old Savona Cemetery behind the telephone company building on Main Street.
