Larry,
Would you happen to know who the parents are, of your William Wages who married Elizabeth Pannell? With their children being born between 1847 and 1861, it would appear that William Wages was born about 1820-25. We have traced our line back to John Wages, born 1812. The family lived right at the Chester/Fairfield County line. He married Lucretia Corder. They moved to Tipton County, Tennessee to live with a son when they were old and died there. I think, but can't prove, that John's father was Andrew Wages, born 1790. John Wages had a brother Benjamin, who was born in 1811 and married Dora Pannell. They are buried on a little hill in the woods right across the county line that I mentioned above. I wonder if John and Benjamin could be brothers to your William. Your William's wife Elizabeth may be Dora Pannell's sister. Dora was born in 1819. I know a lot of the Wages/Pannell/Roberts moved to western states like Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas from SC. I have heard that in the early to mid 1800's there was a migration of the family to these states. Look forward to hearing from you again. Thanks, Anita Wages

Bobbie William Corder was born about 1768 since his son Benjamin was born 15 Jan 1790. William died 1844. I have a copy of his will. William Wylie witnessed his will. He is also mentioned in the will. I am trying to find information on John Corder,William's father,Who his parents were, where he owned land, which he did. I cannot find who John's parents were. I am looking for John Corder's parents. John would have been born ca. 1745, died after 1792. John is probably buried in the Catholic Presbyterian cemetery.

just discovered this latest piece of info---I've been up to Chester county area last year searching for Corder family ancestors--had lead to go to Great Falls,SC---found one Corder connection there--also was told to go on to Richburg--near Lancaster---and search cemeteries in that area--since my health is bad, will wait till cooler weather this fall--am looking to obtain as much info of cemeteries to search before I go---be very thankful for any suggestions--have been told of several very old (1700s) family cemeteries between GreatFalls and Richburg--"not sure just where tho--will be asking after I get in the area---possibly at funeral Homes--I found "John Corder" many years ago in a 1773 indent-at Archives in Columbia,SC--granted huge tract in midlands SC for supplying forage and aide to the patriots fighting the British at that time---it stated he had come here from Charleston---still dont know the connection tho---possibly a son or g.son?? Also have recently had contact w/ a Corder from England searching the Corder name in relation to the "Hoo" family name of England 1600S??maybe 1500s??

In Chester Co. near Richburg,a plaque lists names (from Revolutionary War Era) I found a John Corder listed in an "indent" in Archives, back in the 1960s in Columbia, S.C.,from Charleston...The indent listed a grant given to a John Corder,in the year 1783,for providing aid to patriots fighting for freedom from England..Could this be the same John Corder, listed in Chester Co. of same era?If so,my g.g.g.grandfather Emanuel Martin Corder, and his bro. "Morgan"may have been his grandchildren? They moved to Edgefield Dist. in early to mid 1840s,possibly from Fairfield or Chester area.

Raymond---I received some data of the ancestry of Benjamin D. Corder (D as in David or Davis?)--it had listed Morgan,Sr.,as a son,and Morgan,Jr.as Morgan,Srs. son--however, I do know that here in Lexington county,SC--my g.g.grandfather was a bro. to a Morgan Corder, from Edgefield county in the 1840s--I,ve seen a deed in which,Emanuel sold to Morgan-a few hundred acres of land, dated 1845---in Saluda county, only a few miles from Edgefield county---it did not however have,Jr.(to my recollection)--this data also says that Morgan,Jr.was born 1822-and Emanuel,about1825--if Morgan,Sr.was son of John Corder of chester county?--was there also anouther Morgan,Sr.a son of Benjamin D. Corder at same period of time? theres confusion here I can,t comprehend--would you happen to have any ans.to this ????

My gg grandpa Henry Beasley was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee in 1824. I have been unable to find out any info on his parents or where they lived prior to Tennessee. However I am finding out loads of info on the Corders. Rachel was my gg grandma. I am very interested in my family tree and I can provide what info I have on my Beasley family. Well, there is such a longgg list of John Corders, even in S.C. I,ve been trying for 40yrs to locate info to connect the John Corder(granted an indent in 1791 for aid to the patriots fighting for independence from England) my g.g.g. grandfather was Emanuel Martin Corder, and his bro. Morgan, possibly decended from the Corders of Chester Dist.and maybe The John Corder that owned many 1000s of acres thru midlandss of S. C. from Batesburg area,S.E.ward towards Orangeburg,S.C. in the late 1700s

What I found in the Archives back in the 70s was that an "indent" was a huge tract of land granted to settled landowners during the late 1700s for aide given during S.C.s battle for independence from England..It was my understanding that this John Corder from Charleston was granted possibly 10s of thous. of acres down the North Edisto River Basin, possibly as for north as Chester Dist.,s.e.ward toward Orangeburg,S.C. John Fox of the Same time period was granted as much or more from Lexington s.e.to St.Matthews of further....family history passed down to me that my g.g.g.grandfather Emanuel M. was married (1st marrage to, an Ella Kitchens,or the area below Orangeburg, known as kitchins mill..in the early 1800s
