Benjamin Corder with father Jacob Corder and mother Cenie.

2. Appears in 1880 Floyd Co. Ga. census with father and family.

3. Obituary. Paper unknown. R.B. Corder, 72, resident of Taylor Co.

since 1900 died in a Merkel hospital Wednesday at 6 pm. He had been ill for two

weeks. Funeral will be held at Laughter's chapel at 3 pm. Burial will be

in a local cemetery. Born in N.C. in 1871, Mr. Corder since coming to

Taylor Co. had lived in and around Abilene and the Hamby community until 7 years ago. At the time of his death he was living at the Golden community north of

Merkel. He was married to Eliza Ann Evans in 1898. She died in 1935. In

1937 he married Mrs. Laura Elliott, who survives. Other survivors are three

sons Cecil of Long Beach, CA, Willie in the US Army in Louisiana, Jack in the

US Army in Hawaii; five daughters, Mrs. Annie Williams of Sweetwater, Mrs. B.

G. Jutson Nora of Abilene, Mrs Jimmy Miles (Daisy) Athens, Mrs J.D.

Pinkston of Levelland (Jo), and Mrs. E.B. Thorp of Forsan; and four brothers, W.B.

Corder of Wichita Falls, A.J. of Abilene, J.F. of May, and A.M. of Kingston, Okla.

Pallbearers will be P.D. Skidmore, M.M. Herron, R.T. Jones, J.N. Hurd,

Bill James, and I.I. Vancil. (Mrs E.B. Thorp is Bobbie.)
