In 1891 Margaret aged 3 was living in Sussex Street, Scarborough with her parents Peter (a bricklayer, 48) and Ann (38) and siblings Mary A (9), William (6), and Eliza (2) ^[2].

Margaret married John Patrick Scot or William Ernest Decent in Scarbourgh in the December quarter of 1908 ^[3].

In 1911 Margaret was 23, a dressmaker born Scaborough living with her husband John Malcolm Stottt (25, a general labourer born Hartlepool, County Durham) and their children John Patrick (2, born Scarborough) and George William (0, born Scarborough) at Quay Street, Scarborough ^[4].

Their birth of their daughter Ann E was registered in the September Quarter of 1912 in the Scarborough Registration District ^[5].

On 19 June 1921 Margaret was 33 years and 11 months old, living with her husband John Malcolm Scott (36 years and 1 month, born Hartlepool, a General Labourer working for McPlanton Builder North Sheet Scarborough) and their children John Patrick (12 years and 3 months), George William (11 years and 2 months) and Arthur (1 year 3 months) at 2 Wynell Yard, Scarborough ^[6].
