Celeste Cormier, daughter of Anaclet Cormier and Magdaleine Celeste Richard, was born on 28 December 1796 at Opelousas Post, Louisiana.
She was baptized on 25 December 1797 at St. Landry Catholic Church. Her sponsors were Pierre Arsenaux and Marguerite Richard, her maternal aunt. Father Pedro de Zamora performed the ceremony.[1]
She married Marcel Patin, son of Antoine Patin and Catherine Bossier, on 25 August 1814 in St. Landry Parish. Witnesses were Widow Anaclet Cormier (bride's mother), Louis Richard, Vital Estilet, Pierre Thibaudeau, Eloy Landry, Sylvere Mouton, Jean Baptiste Richard (uncle or family of the future bride), Celeste Comeau, Camille Richard, and many others. Father Michel Bernard Barriere presided.[2]
Celeste was widowed at the age of 30 on 1 February 1827.[10]
She died on 24 September 1876, at nearly 80 years of age, in St. Martin Parish.[11]

If Marcel died in 1827, he could not possibly have been the father of Celise, if she was born in 1831 as this record implies. Could there have been a mistake in transcription? Could she have actually been 10 years old rather than 10 months? Need to review the original burial record to determine.
