Elizabeth Townsend wrote her will in September, 1745 in Sussex County, Delaware. Her bequests were:

to son Steaven Townsend, 10 shillings
to son Costen Townsend, 10 shillings
to son Solomon Townsend a cow & calf & my sorrel mare
to son Charles Townsend, my negro maid named Corey but he must pay £10 to his brother Solomon within two years
to daughter Elizabeth Debuty: use & service of an enslaved girl called Dinah during my daughter’s natural life, then Dinah is to go to granddaughter Betty Debuty.
