François was born September 7, 1752, and baptized September 8, 1752, at Saint-Pierre, Québec, which is now known as Saint-Pierre-de-l'Île-d'Orléans.[1] François Coté married Françoise Morisset on January 24, 1774, at Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse, Québec.[2][3]
Their last known child, Barnabé, was baptized in Saint-Michel in September 1801. Another son, one of their eldest, Charles Abel, married in Saint-Henri (Lauzon), in the fall of 1802. Yet another, Ignace, married in Saint-Hyacinthe in 1803. It seems likely that this Côté family as a whole relocated to Saint-Hyacinthe in 1802 or 1803.
He died December 29, 1809, and was buried December 31, 1809, in the parish cemetery of Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire in Saint-Hyacinth, Québec.[4][5]
