The 1920 federal census indicates both her parents were born in Missouri.

In 1995 the Martin Funeral Home in Elk City provided me an information sheet on Dorcas Young containing the following: Date of death: 2 18 80 8:30 PM, Age 86-3-8.

Mrs. Young's Rites Thursday

Funeral services for Dorcas Young will be conducted from the First United Methodist Church on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Glenn Millard officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home.

Mrs. Young was born Nov. 10, 1893 at Piedmont, and spent her early life there. She died in a Ft. Worth, Tex., hospital on Monday at the age of 86.

She was married to Roy B. Young in Corpus Christi, Tex., on April 19, 1909 and they moved to Oklahoma City where they lived until 1929 when they came to Elk City. Mr. Young preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1961. Mrs. Young had lived in Elk City until four months ago when she moved to Ft. Worth to make her home with her daughter.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and of the Order of the Eastern Star where she was a past matron. She had done outstanding work for many years as Mother Advisor of the Rainbow Girls.

Survivors include 2 sons, Roy A. Young of Sayre and Archie Young of McAllen, Tex.; her daughter, Mrs. Emma Warkentin, of Ft. Worth; 2 brothers, Price Courtney of Oklahoma City and Chester Courtney of Tahlequah; 3 sisters, Lettie Gorbit of El Reno, Emma Bhlym of Oklahoma City, and Naomi Souther of Los Angeles, Calif., 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Elise Young and Patsy Jensen.
