- Feb. 22, 1913 - May 27, 2006
- ALLEN PARK -- Arvella. A. Toburen, 93, of Allen Park, formerly of Monroe, died of natural causes Saturday after a brief illness.
- Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen Park Chapel of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes. She will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church until a Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery Huron Township.
- Born Feb. 22, 1913, in LaSalle, she was the daughter of Adolphus and Ann Cousino. She married Frederick Toburen in 1939 in Monroe. He died in 1993.
- Surviving are two sons, Robert of Oak Park, Ill., and William (Sher) of Hartland; two daughters, Gail (Leonard) LaButte of Lakeland and Jacquelyn Gillis of Westerville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
- She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
