ALLEN PARK -- Arvella. A. Toburen, 93, of Allen Park, formerly of Monroe, died of natural causes Saturday after a brief illness.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen Park Chapel of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes. She will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church until a Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery Huron Township.
Born Feb. 22, 1913, in LaSalle, she was the daughter of Adolphus and Ann Cousino. She married Frederick Toburen in 1939 in Monroe. He died in 1993.
Surviving are two sons, Robert of Oak Park, Ill., and William (Sher) of Hartland; two daughters, Gail (Leonard) LaButte of Lakeland and Jacquelyn Gillis of Westerville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
