Harry Ted Cowan, a son of Ross Cowan and Laura Etta Zink, was born on January 7, 1885, in East Grafton, Chautauqua County, Kansas. He married Rosa Wiershing in Grafton on May 20, 1906. They had three children, Vera Edith, William Ross, and Letha May. Harry lived in Chautauqua County, until 1917, when the family moved to Saskatchewan, Canada. Sometime before 1944, Harry and Rosa were divorced. He married Lillian Mary McClellan on April 10, 1944 in Regina, Saskatchewan. They had two children, George Malcolm, and Bessie Raye. In 1953, the family moved to Caney, Montgomery, Kansas. Harry died in Caney on July 7, 1965 and was buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, Chautauqua, Kansas.
