Biography
James was born about 27 June 1847 in Tennessee. His parents were Samuel and June (or Permelia or Eliza) Cowan. James married Milley Emeline Dodd on 20 Nov 1871. According to Find A Grave, the couple had children Nancy, James, and Robert. James died about 5 May 1877 and is buried in Turpin Cemetery, Pulaski County, Missouri.
